My name is Martin Maschke, owner and sole employee of A1Retouching - a small business with huge potential and bright future.
With A1Retouching you found the one stop location in Rochester, NY, that can and will deliver high end results proven by many successful retouching and restoration projects for both world renowned companies and artists as well as the private person.
I will be the only person working for you on your treasured images. That gives me the confidence your images will exceed your expectations.
My knowledge and background is based on 30 years of experience working in professional studio environments both in Germany and the United States.
Within these years a vast amount of pictures of all kinds came across my screen.
You name it, I did it: From regular photos, Polaroids, printed (screened) images, to slides & negatives of different sizes, paintings done with water colors or oil, and even X-rays of various sizes.
Almost anything imaginable – and sometimes seemingly impossible – was done to perfection and to the client's utmost satisfaction.

In 1991 I began learning the great art of retouching.
I am certain that I was one of the few last people that had the great opportunity to acquire this invaluable knowledge and I am VERY proud of it.
Working with an actual brush and retouching smallest nuances on film... This was, at times, a very meticulous process and sometimes very time-consuming.

Nowadays the tools are thankfully much different and the quality remains world class!

Technology changes, that is good and progress will not stop!
Knowing the "basics" from my early years in the retouching business can be a big advantage and they prove to be indispensable, time and time again. I am glad, happy and proud that I was so fortunate to learn them.
