Meals & Nutrition

Last Updated: August 2026

At Jasmine's Kingdom Daycare, we believe healthy eating is an important part of every child's growth, development, learning, and overall well-being. To provide the safest and most individualized nutrition for every child, our daycare follows a Parent-Provided Meals Policy. This approach allows families to choose foods that best meet their child's nutritional needs, personal preferences, allergies, and dietary requirements.

Parent-Provided Meals & Snacks

Parents are strongly encouraged to provide all meals, snacks, beverages, bottles, breast milk, infant formula, and any other food items their child will need throughout the day.

Providing meals from home offers several important benefits:

  • Children enjoy foods they already know and like.
  • Parents maintain complete control over their child's nutrition.
  • Special diets are easily accommodated.
  • Food allergies and sensitivities can be managed more safely.
  • Meals can be tailored to each child's unique nutritional needs.
  • Parents have peace of mind knowing exactly what their child is eating.
🍎 Please Note

To help protect children with food allergies and dietary restrictions, we kindly ask that all meals, snacks, bottles, cups, lunch bags, and food containers brought from home be clearly labeled with your child's name and prepared in accordance with your family's dietary preferences, allergy requirements, and medical needs.
💜 Parent Tip

Packing a reusable insulated lunch bag with an ice pack helps keep food fresh and safe until mealtime. Including healthy foods your child already enjoys can make the transition to daycare easier and encourage positive eating habits throughout the day.

Fresh Fruit & Healthy Snacks

From time to time, we may provide fresh fruit or other simple healthy snacks during special activities or celebrations. Whenever food is provided by our daycare, known food allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions will always be taken into consideration.

Water Availability

Fresh drinking water is available throughout the day. Children are encouraged to stay hydrated during indoor play, outdoor activities, meals, and snacks.

Food Allergies & Dietary Needs

The health and safety of every child is one of our highest priorities. Parents are responsible for informing us of any food allergies, dietary restrictions, food sensitivities, or medical conditions before their child's first day of care and whenever changes occur.

Because families provide their child's meals and snacks, they maintain greater control over ingredients and food preparation, helping reduce the risk of accidental exposure to allergens.

Food Labeling

Please clearly label all lunch bags, bottles, cups, food containers, and snack containers with your child's name. If food requires refrigeration, heating, or has special serving instructions, please include those details as well.

Birthday Celebrations

Birthdays are special occasions, and we enjoy celebrating each child's special day in a fun, positive, and age-appropriate way.

If birthday treats are brought to daycare, we ask families to follow our current guidelines regarding commercially prepared foods, food allergies, and safe food handling practices.

Infant Feeding

Parents may provide breast milk, infant formula, bottles, and other age-appropriate nutritional items for infants. Feeding schedules will be followed according to each infant's individual needs while following current health and safety recommendations.

Food Safety

Maintaining a clean eating environment is an important part of keeping children healthy.

  • Eating areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
  • Children are encouraged to wash their hands before meals and snacks.
  • Food requiring refrigeration is stored appropriately.
  • Safe food-handling practices are followed.
  • Tables and food preparation surfaces are sanitized after each use.

Positive Mealtime Environment

Mealtimes provide opportunities for conversation, learning, independence, and social development. Children are encouraged to enjoy meals in a relaxed, positive atmosphere while developing healthy eating habits and age-appropriate table manners.

Working Together with Families

Parents know their children best. We encourage open communication regarding allergies, food preferences, feeding routines, and nutritional concerns so we can work together to support each child's individual needs.
